Teacher Website - Miss Sabrina Haines's ESL Classroom
This is the teacher website I created with Google Sites. I really love having a website because I can connect with Teachers, Students, and Parents outside of the classroom. Here you can find a list of quizzes, instructional videos, and useful tools to use. I also have a Calendar with events listed on here, newsletters for parents, and our school website. Because I take such pride in my students, I even included a link to Student Projects that have been done, to show them off and support my students and the hard work they've put into my class. Students will have practice navigating through websites with this resource, and Parents will be able to keep up to date on everything we are doing in the classroom! This is a valuable educational tool because my students and their parent's are able to meet me and see what I am like before they are able to meet me, and can go through and see what work I have done and what work I will be doing within the classroom.

Newsletter - Smore
|
Making Newsletters is a normal part of a teacher's classroom, and so being able to make one quickly and efficiently while also not having to waste paper is a big plus. The way that Smore allows you to create Newsletters also helps make important information really pop, and can be directly sent to parents. Within this Newslettwer, I am welcoming student's and parent's alike to the Journey we will be taking throughout the year exploring different English-Speaking countries. I explain the three main areas we will explore, have a date set for when we have a Mystery Skype date with another native English speaking classroom, and even explain what the importance of English is. This is an engaging tool that I am able to create, because you can design it in a way that helps make it interesting and fun, even eye-catching. My favorite part about this will be the ability to easily show off what we are working on in class with the parents, and even being able to remind them of events that we might be attending. This is a valuable tool for being able to send out useful information to parents and student's without the hassle of paper and making it more festive and engaging.

Screencast - Duolingo
|
One of the products we had to create was a Screencast on a useful online tool or app using Screencast O'Matic. For my product, I decided to use DuoLingo, which is a really helpful and convinient website and app that help you learn or practice a language. This effectively helps someone review while also efficiently keeping up with them, and engages them with fun pictures, sounds, and interactive games. My favorite thing about this Screencast is being able to physically show them how to use the product, and be able to explain efficiently what they are going to do with this! This is a valuable tool because it allows me to teach my student's outside of the classroom.

My Symbaloo Webmix
My Symbaloo webmix is a collection of future websites and tools that I can use now and also in my future classroom. Having everything in one place is convinient, and I will easily be able to find anything I might possibly need in a classroom setting, and also be able to share with my fellow educators. This is a valuablein the classroom because I will be able to keep all of my tools and resources in one area, so that I will easily be able to access this along with my student's, colleague's, and parent's.

EDPuzzle
EDPuzzle is a great and effective way to teach student's and make sure they are paying attention. I really enjoy this tool and the fact that it will stop the viewer to quiz them and make sure they are paying attention and retaining the information they need in order to succeed in the classroom. In this example helps the students learn how to speak more naturally and catch Silent Syllables, which is typically a tricky matter for non-native English Speakers. This is a valuable tool for my classroom because it helps to know that they are really paying attention to the video and making sure that they are understanding the material they are watching and listening too.
